The Department of Mathematics of the College of Polytechnics Jihlava is holding a holiday school of mathematical subjects during the inter-semester break.

The classes will be held in a block from Monday, February 10, to Friday, February 14, 2025 (20 classes in total).

Group I: February 10 - February 14 Monday, Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for the subjects Mathematics (CR, AI, FR), Basics of Linear Algebra, Mathematical Methods in Economics

Group II: 11-14 Feb. Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the courses Mathematics 0, Mathematics Seminar and as preparation for the Mathematics Entrance Test

The class will be taught face-to-face. Students should register for the course in IS (Support Courses section) by February 9, 2025.

The goal is to offer another option to students who have failed to complete the course:

• Mathematics Seminar
• Mathematics 0
• Mathematics (AI, CR, FR)
• Basics of Linear Algebra
• Mathematical Methods in Economics

Students who have already used up all terms (credit or examination) will be given an additional term of credit (ONLY FOR SUBJECTS ENDING IN CREDIT) or examination after further opportunity for professional explanation and practice of the material. Upon meeting the 100% active participation requirement, the student will automatically be granted an extension of the exam period until March 31, 2025.

NOTICE: For courses ending in an exam, students must have already completed the credit, only an additional exam period can be requested!

For Mathematics 0 students: students who have met the attendance and diagnostic test requirements are eligible for vacation school. They will then be allowed to write a credit test based on completing the holiday school. If students are unsure, they should contact the course supervisor, Dr. Stanislava Dvořáková.

Students who only wish to review and practice the material in the course and who have already successfully completed the course or are yet to complete it may also enrol in the holiday school.

The holiday school will teach the subject only after the minimum number of candidates has been reached.

Students will be divided into two groups (mathematics seminar and other mathematics subjects). There may be students in more than one subject in the mathematics group; we will try to cover the needs of all students.

Depending on the number and composition of interested students, Groups I and II may be swapped.

The framework rules for the organization of the holiday school at the college are as follows:

• The conditions for enrolling students in the holiday school, the content and scope (number of hours) and the conditions for successful completion of the holiday school are determined by the supervisor of the subject in cooperation with the head of the department.
• Lecturally, the holiday school is provided by the head of the relevant department in cooperation with the subject supervisor.
• In order to be eligible for another term of credit or for a remedial examination, the student must meet the predefined conditions for participation in the holiday school (active approach, completion of all assigned tasks, attendance, ...), the subject supervisor decides on the fulfilment of the conditions and recognition of the holiday school.
