Holiday School of Mathematical Subjects

28. 1. 2026 09:34 Author: RNDr. Ing. Hana Kotoučková, Ph.D.

The Department of Mathematics has prepared a Holiday School of Mathematical Courses for the courses Mathematics 0, Mathematics Seminar, Mathematics for FŘ, CR, AI, Basics of Linear Algebra for APIN after the winter semester 2025/26.

The goal is to offer students with extended exam periods the opportunity od consultation on individual topics. The instructor will not re-explain the material in detail; they will answer specific questions from the students and help with examples that they are having difficulty with. Therefore, it is necessary for the student to be prepared in advance, i.e., they need to have tried solving the example problems from the topic and know what they want to ask. Draw examples for each topic from the handouts of the courses you are studying.

The class will be held on weekdays always from 6pm to 8pm. The individual terms are below, broken down by each subject. Participation is voluntary, no need to sign up anywhere in advance.

Holiday School Rules

  • Students extend their exam period themselves via IS

  • The exam period is extended in the winter semester until March 31, 2026

  • Students must arrange the date of the exam/final test with their teacher themselves (before the end of the regular exam period).

  • During the extended exam period, you have the option of one exam date (if the subject is finished by the exam) or one date to get their results accepted and credits granted (if the subject is finished with acceptance).

  • After completing the Holiday School, you will not receive another (usually fourth) attempt at the exam or final test for resutls acceptance; only the standard three attempts remain available for the exam, and (usually) two attempts for the final test in case of results acceptance.

  • In the case of Mathematics 0, consult the course supervisor regarding a possible extension of the exam period.
