Studies

The Department of Mathematics is involved in teaching across all study programmes at VŠPJ and delivers modules for several specialist departments. Teaching focuses on developing mathematical literacy, analytical thinking, and the ability to work with data, always with an emphasis on practical application within the relevant field.

As part of their respective programmes, students undertake modules in mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, and quantitative research. The course content is tailored to the specific field of study, ranging from economics and tourism, through social work and healthcare, to technical and IT disciplines.

The department aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to work effectively with information, analyse data, interpret results correctly, and apply quantitative methods in practice as well as when writing their final theses.
