The Department of Mathematics provides the following courses for study programmes in social work and clinical social care, which provide students with practical skills for working with information, data and conducting research:

Basics of Computer Science

This course introduces students to the basic tools of information and communication technology. Emphasis is placed on the practical use of office applications, working with texts, tables, graphs and creating presentations.

Students acquire the skills needed to work effectively with information and use it in professional and administrative practice.

Type: compulsory

Quantitative Research in Social Work

This course provides a basic understanding of quantitative research methodology in social work. Students learn how to design research, work with data, use statistical methods, and interpret results.

Emphasis is placed on practical application in the development of research investigations and theses.

 

Type: compulsory

Quantitative Research and its Use in Social Work Practice

This course develops knowledge of quantitative research with a focus on social work and mental health. Students learn to design research studies, analyse data and interpret results in the context of professional practice.

The course focuses on the practical application of research methods in solving problems in the social work field.

Type: compulsory (follow-up Master's study)
